These baleen mammals are very unique in their own way with their V shaped BlowHole.

What does the Right Whale look like?
The Right Whale is black with white spots they are big around about  40,000 – 70,00 kg  they also look friendly.

What does the right whale eat?
The Right Whale eats about 2000 krill a day.

How much does the right whale weigh?
The Right Whale weighs around about 50,000-80,000kg that is a lot for a whale.

What is the right whale’s biggest threat?
The Right Whale’s biggest threat would be the Beach because if the whale gets stranded it can't just swim back into the water wouldn’t be  easy. The whale would just be lying there and people would try and keep the whale wet.

How many right whales are left in the world?
Two species are left in the world of the right whales, the species are Northern Pacific and Southern Right Whale.

Where are the right whales found?
They are found mainly in Eubalaena, North Atlantic and the  Atlantic Ocean.


Why is the right whale called the Right Whale?
It was one of those slower whales that are easier to hunt down.This Whale was easier to hunt down because it would just float when it died,This made it easier to catch the Right whale.It is called the Right Whale because it is the correct/Right Whale to hunt.

How important were the Right Whales to the Maori?
The Right Whale were important to the maori because of there bone carvings and they can provide food and utensils.

These rare animals are unique because the right whales floats when it dies.
